INSULADD® insulating house paint products are based on the same insulating ceramic technology used in high temperature kilns, steel manufacturing, and electronics, and is similar in theory to technology developed by NASA for use on the insulating tiles used on the Space Shuttle to reflect heat.
What INSULADD® is and how it works...
INSULADD® is a safe, easy to use, non-toxic, white ceramic composite, insulating additive for house paint that adds superior heat reflecting properties to any interior house paint, exterior house paint or roof coating. This easy to use house paint additive can be mixed into any house paint or roof coating to give that paint superior heat rejection properties and to give your home the energy efficiency that it needs! Ideal for all residential and commercial painting applications.
You can use our pre-mixed INSULADD® ceramic insulating paints or simply add INSULADD® to your favorite house paint and paint in the usual manner! INSULADD® turns ordinary house paint into "insulating paint!" By painting with interior or exterior house paint treated with INSULADD® insulating ceramic house paint additives, you will improve on any existing traditional insulation in your home, making your home more comfortable and energy efficient.
INSULADD® ceramic insulating additives contain tiny ceramic microspheres that act as highly efficient thermal barriers, so that when the paint or roof coating that has been treated with the INSULADD® ceramic insulating additive dries, the microspheres form a barrier, or thin insulating layer, against heat transfer.
This barrier reflects, refracts and dissipates heat, thereby insulating the home or other structure by keeping in more heat during the cold months and keeping more heat out during the hot months. As they are true microspheres, the ceramic particles do not add weight but increase the strength of the paint or coating, and its insulating property.
